A winter scene

What to do with the mantel or side board after Christmas.
Here's an idea -
Instead of going back to "every day" or "Valentines Day right away,
Why not do a winter scene that reflects the season?

Use snowy evergreens, ice icicles, skaters and
other winter items to create your scene.
It will be enjoyable until some time in February -
when you can change to Valentine's day!

Green House Plant Care

General Green Plant Care

Caring for green plants is generally easy. Think about how you would like to be treated!

Choose a location with moderate light. Protect from direct sun in the summer, plants can get sun burned like we do. Place near sunny window in the winter, but not in the direct sun. Sunlight is magnified through glass.

Keep most plants (not succulents) moderately moist. People don't like it when their feet are wet all of the time, and neither do plants. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Remove any extra water from the pot or saucer shortly after watering. Do not allow plants to stand in water for any length of time.

Most house plants are tropical plants and prefer temperatures that are warm: 70-72˚F during the day, like us, and 65-70˚F nights. Avoid excessively hot or cold areas.
